WATCH RANDOLPH CHURCHILL READ “HIS FATHER’S SON,” BY WINSTON S. CHURCHILL

BOOK #14 IN OUR '40TH READINGS AT CHARTWELL BOOKSELLERS' VIDEO SERIES

Published in 1996, HIS FATHER’S SON is an exceedingly candid biography of Winston Churchill’s wildly unpredictable son, Randolph, written by Randolph’s own son, Winston S. Churchill, whom we hosted a publishing party for that year held, not at the store, but at a private residence nearby.

HIS FATHER’S SON is Book #14 in our 40TH READINGS AT CHARTWELL BOOKSELLERS video series, as read, most appropriately, by Winston Churchill’s great-grandson, RANDOLPH CHURCHILL, son of the author and grandson of the subject.

Our friendship with Winston Churchill’s eponymously named grandson, Winston, began with HIS FATHER’S SON, and continued through the many books that he published throughout the store’s lifetime before his death in 2010, including the altogether new Churchill work that he created from existing Churchill writings, THE GREAT REPUBLIC: A History of America, and the superb Churchill speech compendium that he edited, NEVER GIVE IN!: The Best of Winston Churchill’s Speeches.

We have continued to enjoy a commensurate kinship with his son Randolph; two Chartwell Booksellers friendships that we commemorate here in one reading.

40th READINGS AT CHARTWELL BOOKSELLERS
toasts the best 40 books about Winston Churchill published during our forty year existence.
We launched the series on April 11 with actor JOHN LITHGOW reading THE LAST LION.
