The undated, typed paper caption reads:
”Mr. Churchill g[h]as just concluded a tour in which he saw bomb damage, inspected A.R.P. workers, visited factories and docks. He was accompanied by Mrs. Churchill and received a tremendous welcome wherever he went.
“The Prime Minister watching a girl riveter at work on a Spitfire in an aeroplane factory.”

The photograph was taken September 28, 1941 in Birmingham. It is in very good condition with a few, small wrinkles near the corners. The verso is backstamped: “Wide World Photos.”
