Description

Typed paper caption reads:
”Early clothes coupons for which the spare margarine page in the food book was used until special clothes cards were issued. Mr. Churchill has used thirteen coupons since clothes rationing was instituted; this represents four pairs of socks, and two handkerchiefs. With the coupons left on this page, plus the coupons on his new clothing ration card, he has sufficient left to buy a complete suit and a shirt, too, if he choices.
“The canceled page under the clothes coupons is for tea rations.”

The photograph is in very good condition. The verso is backstamped: “Wide World Photos”.
