Description

This marvelous volume of tributes from 20 friends and colleagues, including Anthony Eden, Clement Attlee, Bernard Baruch and Violet Bonham-Carter, was published on Churchill’s 80th birthday in 1954. The book was issued with a wrap-around greeting card that invited the reader to “Send A Birthday Greeting to Winston Churchill for His Eightieth Birthday.”

This is a very good copy, without the card, in a dust jacket that is moderately sunfaded along the spine. The contents are fine, with foxing to the fore-edges and a dated former-owner name in ink on the front free endpaper. Laid-in is a lengthy vintage news cutting about Churchill’s 80th.
