This is a very good First Edition copy of the very first Churchill biography ever published, written when Churchill was just 30-years-old and on the verge of his first government appointment as Under-Secretary for the Colonies in Liberal Prime Minister Henry Campbell-Bannerman’s government.
The cloth is shelfworn, with some stains to the front face, though the gilt lettering is still bright, more dimmed on the spine. The front hinge is beginning to give but the contents are otherwise fine
