A fascinating epistolary chronicle of business and friendship between the enterprising owner of the independent press service known as Cooperation and his favorite writer/client, Winston Churchill. Emery Reves forcefully placed Churchill’s pro-democracy articles in newspapers around the world during the years leading up to World War II, then acted as his agent following the war negotiating the publication of Churchill’s war memoirs and his History of the English-Speaking Peoples.

This mint copy of the First American edition in dust jacket, has been inscribed and signed by the editor, Sir Martin Gilbert: “To –with the author’s very warm regards, as ever, Martin. Boston, Publication Day, 12th November 1997.”
