Description
At the end of the Civil War, the U.S. War Department commissioned detailed maps and atlases documenting major battles. Between 1891 and 1895, the department issued the material as the Atlas to Accompany the Official Records of the Union and Confederate Armies. The 37 volumes included approximately 175 black and white illustrations, mostly maps, and colored renderings of flags and uniforms. Collected facsimile editions were published in 1958 and 1978. This copy of the 1958 Thomas Yoseloff edition is in very good condition, lacking the original dust jacket. The contents are fine.
