Description
This is a very good copy of the First English edition, without dust jacket, as issued. The gilt lettering on the front cover and spine is bright. The boards are worn; the corners are rubbed and and slightly frayed; else fine. The fold-out maps are very well-preserved. There is a previous owner’s bookplate on the front pastedown; the prelims are foxed; there is faint pencil writing on the front free endpaper; the pages are age-toned; contents fine.
