Churchill’s profile of the King of Spain, Alfonso XII, who unexpectedly resigned after elections in 1931 gave Republican parties a majority of seats in the local councils. This article was simultaneously published in Collier’s magazine in the U.S. under the title, “Unlucky Alfonoso,” and was subsequently included in GREAT CONTEMPORARIES under the title “Alfonso XII.”
This is a very good copy of the original Strand Magazine, with some chipping to tail of spine, two words discreetly inked on rear cover, else fine.
