Collector's Guide

Savrola was Winston Churchill’s first and only novel; a statement of personal and political philosophy delivered as a  work of dystopian fiction with a twist of romance. U.S. publication preceded the British issue by roughly ten days, rendering the American first edition the true first.

Description

The most elaborate edition ever produced of Churchill’s only novel and one of the finest productions of any Churchill work, this beautiful illustrated French translation was limited to 1000 copies, with eloquent color woodcut illustrations by Andre Collot. Here is a virtually mint copy of the notoriously perishable volume, Number 791 of 1000, as originally issued as loose signatures in an open beige portfolio for custom binding by the owner. The portfolio is bright and crisp, the acetate dustwrapper is present and fresh. The contents are pristine, with perhaps a whisper of light foxing to the title page. Rare thus.
