Description

This is a very good copy of the handsome First American “Pocket” edition issued a year after the First Edition, with printed tissue-protected frontispiece and 7 other tissue protected color plates, all by illustrator Charles L. Wrenn. The elaborately gilt-stamped red cloth is in very good condition, the boards and illustrated spine are lightly bumped and a trifle shelfworn but still bright. The contents are clean and unmarked, with an elaborate vintage ink gift inscription on the front pastedown dated: “Xmas 1918, Camp Wadsworth, S.C.”
Truly lovely.
