This is a very good copy of the First English edition without dust jacket as issued. The gilt embossed lettering on the cover is bright. The edges and corners are rubbed and frayed in a few spots; the spine is faded, worn, and frayed at the head and tail and a few points along the hinges; the boards are lightly soiled; else fine. The pages are age-toned, with foxing to the prelims; the hinge is loose; contents fine. The book covers 75 regiments and several militia units from the Napoleonic era.
