The typed paper caption, dated April 6, 1955, reads:
“Prime Minister Sir Winston Churchill holds the car door for Queen Elizabeth as she leaves 10 Downing Street, April 4th, after dinner with the Churchills. In the background are Lady Churchill and Prince Philip. The 80-year-old statesman gave the dinner on the eve of his retirement as Prime Minister.”
The verso is stamped: “United Press Associations.” The photograph is in very good condition, with some measurement markings in the margins, not affecting the image.
