This original cartoon from the British humor magazine Punch, dated, May 5, 1926, in very good condition. The caption reads:
“John Bull. ‘Who failed to cut this tree down?’ Winston. ‘I will not tell a lie. With my little hatchet I have failed to make much impression on it. But I propose to continue the good work.’ [’The Cabinet Committee on Economy will pursue its work unceasingly.’ – Mr. Churchill].”
