Laid-into this very good copy of the First English edition, in an unclipped dust jacket, is an autograph letter signed by the author, dated 1/9/95:
Dear Lisa,
Thank you very much for your letter and for the generous things you say. I’m glad you like the title. I originally thought of calling it “Blessed Are the Forgetful.” (”For they get the better even of their blunders.”[?]
I will only write briefly because I have had a stroke – only mild, but the hand writing is a chore.
