Description
“Or, a History of the Settlement by the Whites, of North -Western Virginia, and of the Indian Wars and Massacres in that section of the State, with Reflections, Anecdotes, etc.” One of the best accounts of the period (from the earliest European exploration through 1795). A classic, originally published in 1831 in relatively small numbers, though this is considered by many to be the best edition. A very good copy, neatly rebacked with original spine, boards & endpapers (original spine missing head & tail 1/8th inch), light edge wear, boards a bit scuffed, very occassional pencil marginalia, ink inscription on half-title page.
