A slim presentation volume gifted to: SIR WINSTON CHURCHILL, O.M., C.H., M.P. 1954 BY THE BOARD OF GOVERNORS OF THE CANADIAN CLUB OF NEW YORK comprising paintings of each of Canada’s provinces painted by leading Canadian artists, commissioned or purchased by The Canadian Club of New York to commemorate its 50th anniversary.
On the afternoon of June 9, 1954, after concluding talks in Washington with President Eisenhower, Winston Churchill flew to Ottawa. Following a radio speech to the Canadian people, he dined with Canadian Prime Minister Louis St. Laurent, before returning to New York the following day to embark on the Queen Mary for home.
