Description

This handsomely produced, illustrated journal for The Brooklyn Institute of Arts & Sciences carries on its back page a full-page advertisement for Winston Churchill’s January 14, 1932 lecture appearance at the Brooklyn Academy of Music. “Members who held tickets for Mr. Churchill’s December 14 lecture, postponed by reason of his automobile accident, will be allotted, on request, the same chairs for his January 14 lecture,” a note at the bottom reads. Churchill’s month-long period of recuperation after being struck by a car on Fifth Avenue caused the rescheduling of his extensive U.S. lecture tour.
