A beautiful volume from illustrator Alan James Robinson’s exquisite fine press, the text taken from ANIMATE CREATION, a popular edition of “OUR LIVING WORLD: A Natural History,” by Rev. J.G. Wood, Volume II Birds 1885. Illustrated with 26 Wood Engravings by Alan James Robinson and a Newly Designed Alphabet by Suzanne Moore.
This is the Deluxe Edition, number 39 of 50 copies SIGNED by the artist on the colophon page, the book bound in quarter-vellum over marbled paper-covered boards, the alphabet hand-lettered by Moore, with an extra suite of Robinson’s 26 wood engravings laid in a chemise within a full-linen-covered tray-case. The cloth of the case is darkened and discolored on the front face. The contents are otherwise mint.
