MOVING CHURCHILL #13: Closer

The end of our time here at Park Avenue Plaza is growing closer — three-and-a half weeks, and counting — just as the finalizing of our new destination grows closer too. Why our real estate closing is taking so much time is a mystery — akin to the mystery of Park Avenue Plaza’s future plans without Chartwell Booksellers.

It doesn’t really matter. We are moving, and that’s that, and any day now we will share with you where.

It’s a pretty nice place.

Until our lease is signed, though, we’re just going to keep on sharing SALE books with you.

This week, our “BLIND DATE SALE” tackles all those confounding Companion Volumes to the Official Biography. In First Editions, no less.

Only at Chartwell Booksellers.

MOVING CHURCHILL
We will continue to share updates weekly.
And still more special SALE books.

(Winston Churchill moved some 20 times in his adult life. We are also sharing each of these.
One-by-one. Just for the record.)

Move #13
11 MORPETH MANSIONS

In 1932, Winston and Clementine Churchill took a long lease on a top two-floor maisonette apartment at
11 Morpeth Mansions, near Westminster Cathedral. This would remain their London home for the duration of Churchill’s most challenging decade, his “Wilderness Years,” and the increasingly dire Nazi threat that darkened it. He navigated it all at 11 Morpeth Mansions.

Still more to come.

With our thanks and best wishes,
