JUNE BRINGS D-DAY
June is, of course, the month of the Normandy Invasion, June 6, 1944. Churchill visited the beaches at Normandy twice, the first time on June 12 (D-Day + 6), the second on July 22, after which he was driven by Field Marshall Montgomery in his car across the River Orne.
