Collector's Guide

Lord Randolph Churchill was Winston Churchill’s first work of biography and an impassioned two-volume defense of his maligned father’s posthumous reputation. It was subsequently issued in an unabridged one-volume edition and is a bulwark of any Churchill collection.

Description

This is a good-very good First English edition set. The bindings are square but there are repaired hinge breaks front and rear in Volume I and at the rear in Volume II. The gilt lettering is quite bright and the cloth is still a strong unfaded red. There is a former-owner’s name in ink discreetly on the front free endpaper of both volumes. The contents are intact but lightly foxed throughout.
