Caption, dated December 11, 1931, reads: “Hon. Winston Churchill, former British Chancellor of the Exchequer, Mrs. Chruchill, and their daughter, Diana, are seen aboard the S.S. Europa, as they arrived in New York on Dec. 11th for a visit.” Two days later Churchill was famously run down while crossing Fifth Avenue in search of Bernard Baruch’s apartment. Photo is in very good condition, with crop marking in orange grease pencil on the front upper white border, not affecting image.
