Description

By the Commander-in-Chief of the army in India and leader of the Anzac troops at Gallipoli, this First English edition copy has been signed and inscribed by the author on the front free endpaper: “With every kind wish for many years to come. Birdwood of Anzac F.M. Jan ’42.”.

This is a very good copy, in an unclipped dust jacket that is bright and unfaded, but chipped, with 3/4-inch loss at head of spine head of the spine, intruding on the second “K” in Khaki. The endpaper also bears an inked name, dated 6/1/42, of the owner, who was apparently a member of the Second New Zealand Expeditionary Force. The contents are fine.
