Description

This original cartoon from Punch Magazine, dated November 1, 1933, is in very good condition. The caption reads:
“SAM HOARE. ‘ ’ULLO, MATE! SO YOU DONE A ELEPHANT TOO?’ WINSTON. ‘AH! BUT MY COMPOSITION’S DIFFERENT – AN’ I’VE MADE A LOT MORE O’ THE BACKGROUND.’”
Drawn by the noted political cartoonist, Bernard Partridge, who, beginning in 1910, was Punch magazine’s chief Cartoonist. In 1925, he received a knighthood.
