The Unrelenting Struggle was the second volume of Churchill’s collected World War II speeches (covering 1940-1941). It includes his historic maiden speech to the U.S. Congress on the day after Christmas 1941. Churchill’s speeches were collected and published yearly throughout the war in both the U.K. and the U.S.

A very good leatherbound copy of the Third Printing of the First English edition (dated December 1943) rebound in 3/4-navy blue leather over the original blue cloth boards, gilt lettered on the spine in an exact replica of the original lettering.

There is some shelfwear to the points, else fine. The contents are fine, with very faint, scattered foxing largely limited to the prelims and fore-edges. An elaborate presentation bookplate is affixed to the front pastedown: “With Compliments of the Chairman and the Board of Directors of the General Fire Appliance Company Limited, 11 Waterloo Place.”

Strikingly similar to the manner and style in which Winston Churchill had his books leatherbound for presentation. [See item #211420]
