Description

Typed letter on Chartwell letterhead (7 1/2 x 9 1/2 inches), dated October, 1959:

“I am most grateful to you for all you did in the recent Election Campaign. The successful outcomes is much due to the many voluntary Conservative workers who gave so much of their time to the Party. Please accept my warm thanks and congratulations on the result of your efforts.”

Signed: “Winston S. Churchill,” but probably not in Churchill’s hand. Most likely by a secretary, though the signature could be printed.

After his retirement as Prime Minister in 1955 Winston Churchill remained a Member of the House of Commons for his constituency of Woodford.

The letter is in very good condition.
